Piper Lee McDonald is a researcher, writer, and editor based in Paris, France. Fluent in French and English, she bridges the gap between foreign institutions, individual researchers and creatives, and private collectors seeking assistance with research and editorial projects. Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, she previously worked in Paris as a marketing consultant for a Belgium-based beverage brand before graduating with a Master of Arts in Fashion Studies from The New School – Parsons Paris in May of 2021.

Since 2020 she has worked with L’OFFICIEL as one of their primary archivists and as a frequent monthly contributor. Beyond her work with the magazine, she assisted curators at the Petit Palais and Palais Galliera with extensive research for the 2023 exhibition ‘Sarah Bernhardt – Et la femme créa la star.’ She has also worked on academic publications with professors from Vassar College, Parsons Paris, and UCLA. Concurrently, she works with filmmaker Lisa Immordino Vreeland as an archival researcher, most recently on her newest film, Unknown Beauty: François Nars (2023).
